Color Throwdown at the Lily Pad

I have been waiting for the premiere challenge at the Lily Pad and was happy to see the bright and cheerful color palette Vicky and Deborah came up with.

I colored the digital clown from the Digi Doodles Shop with Copics, matted it using a purple card base, some BoBunny dots and another purple patterned paper. Used my Ranger Enamel Accents and tied a bow using some very bright and cheery ribbon!

About a year ago I posted a card I made using a clown image on the Hero Arts Blog. I was surprised to learn that many of my fellow stampers do not like clowns! Seems they had been traumatized somewhere in their childhood by a clown! I only have one memory of having been to a circus and I was one very excited and happy seven year old! When I was raising my children, we lived a short distance from Baraboo, Wisconsin, home of the Ringlling Brothers Circus. I took my children to the Circus World Museum for the performances and afterwards we would walk down to the banks of the Baraboo River and watch the circus elephants splash and play in the water while their keepers scrubbed them down!

Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to visit the Lily Pad!

I was at Michael's a couple of weekends ago to see if they had revamped their paper crafting section (they hadn't) when I found this clear stamp set by Sandylion. There are 17 clear stamps and it was on clearance (don't you love that word?) for $5.99! The images make me smile! The clouds are a diecut from Die-namics at My Favorite Things. Evenutally someone in my family will receive this card for Easter!

Has Spring arrived where you live? The dogwood trees are in bloom here in Northern Alabama and add such beauty to ordinary streets! Thanks for stopping by!!

Lily Pad Inspiration Card

Lily Pad Inspiration Card by judkajudy

Have you visited the new Lily Pad Cards blog? A new, fun place to visit. Today, Deborah posted a card to be used as an inspiration to make our own card. Deborah's card took 5 to 10 minutes to make. I turned a quick and easy card into an hour's project by using the layered paper technique. Oh, yes; her card included "left over" chipboard. For my card, the yellow pp for the flower is a tiny scrap that has been hanging around .. too good to throw away, too small for anything serious! I love this Hero Arts set "Be happy". And that snail? I made that snail more than a year ago and never found a use for it!! Thanks for visiting!
