Dogwood

Dogwood by judkajudy
The Dogwood trees are in full bloom here in northrn Alabama! What a beautiful sight! And while the white ones have their own snowy beauty, it is the pink ones that make my heart sing!

The flower is a single flower from Hero Arts Dogwood stamp. The message is from a Hero Arts clear set called Birthday Messages.

I made the card with CAS-ual Friday's challenge in mind; black with pastel. It is also suited for Hero Arts "Flower Challenge" and the challenge at Lily Pad is also "Flowers". So this little card will be doing triple duty!

Hedgie Friends

Hedgie Friends by judkajudy
Another fun card made with Penny Black's transparent set "Hedgie Friends". Used the Nesties' Reverse Wonky Rectangles die cut; patterned paper and a touch of Glossy Accents on the flowers.

I skipped distressing edges as I usually ruin the card when I try to distress!  I'm entering this card in the Penny Black Saturday challenge:  Anything Goes.  Find more info here.

Beautiful sunny day where I live! Hope you are having great weather too. Thanks for stopping by!

Penny Black Saturday Challenge

Hedgie Friend by judkajudy
The theme  at the Penny Black Saturday Challenge blog this week is "Anything Goes" which lets me play with any stamp that strikes my fancy!! The hedgie is from the Tiny Wishes set. I did replace the lady bug in Hedgie's hand with an ice cream cone! Who wouldn't rather have an ice cream cone after picking mushrooms!! The ice cream cone came from the Fun in the Sun transparent set.

I also stamped and cut out the flowers from a different hedgie stamp in the Tiny Wishes set. The clouds are punched with my new Fiskars punch.

I couldn't help but think of Lin (quilterlin) when I chose the blue gingham paper!

If you'd like to take part in the challenge, here's the link to the Penny Black Saturday Challenge.

Well, this is my second post for the day; it's a lazy kind of Saturday here.  Thanks for stopping by!

Rainbow Cupcakes

Rainbow Cupcakes by judkajudy
Who doesn't love rainbows?  And who doesn't love cupcakes?  What could be better than a cupcake rainbow??  I stamped the cupcakes using the Hero Arts' 2008 clear design set "Cupcakes". I paper pieced the "wrappers", added Glossy Accents to the hearts and faux stitched around the edges. All in all, a rainbow of cupcakes.

I am entering the Virginia's View challenge at the Lily Pad with this card.
Here's the inspiration photo:

Is that not a beautiful array of buttons??  Why not hop on over to the Lily Pad and join in the fun?  Just click here for the details.

We are enjoying a perfectly lovely Spring day here in Northern Alabama!  Time to get the outdoor work done, which this year includes painting the trim.  We are in the decision-making stage for color!  Obviously my husband's blue eyes see colors differently than my green eyes do.  Otherwise, he would agree that my choice is perfect!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day to all.  My mother was born on St. Patrick's Day so I have always said that makes me a little bit Irish!!

Thanks, everyone, for stopping by!

Oh, and by the way, there is a 90 Minute Scramble taking place at the Hero Arts Blog today at 6:00 PM EST.  It's a fun time!!

Clean & Simple Sentimental

Clean & Simple Sentimental by judkajudy

I am entering this card in this week's challenge at CAS-ual Fridays. The theme is "For Sentimental Reasons", meaning the sentiment should be the focal point. I've used a Hero Arts cling stamp for the message, stamped with the new mid-tone ink, "Cement". The papers are from My Minds Eye.

Clean and Simple definitely requires a clean look; that's not always simple!!
Thanks for stopping by!

Garden Star Flower

Garden Star Flower by judkajudy
One of the challenge themes this month at the Hero Arts blog is flowers. I made this card for the challenge.

The My Minds Eye patterned papers were on sale at Hobby Lobby this week at 50% off! Who could resist? And the Corner Chomper was 40% off! It's been on my wish list for a very long time.

The Hero Arts images are all stamped on the patterned paper and enhanced with Copics. Hero Arts gemstones decorate the butterfly and the flower center. The stitching doesn't show, but the grey paper is sewn to the black.

All in all, I like the way it turned out!

Thanks for stopping by - hope you enjoyed the beautiful spring weather we're having!

Hedgie Friend Penny Black

Hedgie Friend Penny Black by judkajudy
Another fun little card using Penny Black's transparent set, Hedgie Friends.

I added a few white dots, a flower button for some color and Glossy Accents on the butterfly! There's just something so appealing about this little hedgie!!

Hope it's a lovely day where you are, even if it's Monday!! I've been busy talking myself out of housework today; will try again tomorrow!!

Thans for stopping by!

Mimi in the Skies by Penny Black

Mimi in the Skies by Penny Black by judkajudy
There are so many reasons why I love this stamp! First, it reminds me of the hot air balloon ride I gave my husband for his birthday one year.

Secondly, I knew it would be a great image for paper-piecing.

And thirdly, it made me smile big!!

I used liquid pearls for the dots on the balloon and copics to color Mimi. And how did I get along without that Fiskars cloud punch??

Having a quiet day here. It is the 28th anniversary of my dh's and my first date!! How sweet is that? We will celebrate with a walk around the lake with Cooper. Hope it's a good day where you are.

Thanks for stopping by.

Penny Black Hedgie Friends

Penny Black Hedgie Friends by judkajudy
Penny Black's new stamps are becoming very hard for me to resist! This image is from a new release called Hedgie Friends. The bg paper has been in the drawer for awhile and seemed the perfect cheerful backdrop for the hedgie and his butterfly friend!
The clouds were punched with my new Fiskars punch. Earlier this week we went to the dollar movies and saw Joyful Noise. Well, since we saved so much money on movie tickets, a stop at JoAnne's was justified! All paper crafting supplies were 40% off. That little punch just jumped into my cart!!
This is in the mail to a friend who has been hospitalized recently. I hope it makes her smile!
Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Baby Boy Clean and Simple

Baby Boy Clean and Simple by judkajudy
The challenge this week at CAS-ual Fridays is to make a baby card, using a clean and simple style. I brought my first baby home in a red and white checked nightie with red velveteen booties and this card reminds me of that little outfit! I was never fond of the traditional pink and blue for infants.

This is a Hero Arts clear set that I've had for two years or more and never used it. It's called Precious Baby. And aren't they all?

Purple Onion Designs

Purple Onion Designs by judkajudy
I have fallen in love with Purple Onion Designs' whimsical images. I have been especially inspired by what Donna Mikasa and Jenn Biederman do with these stamps!

So, here is Faith, the Chicken greeting Spring! The little flower was stamped from one of the large POD images, an Easter Egg filled with a floral bouquet!

The pink is patterned paper, highlighted with colored pencil and Gamsol.

Spring is busting out all over where I live.

I'm entering this card in the Lily Pad color challenge and hope my colors are "in the ballpark" enough to be eligible. Thanks for stopping by!!
